Energizer Accessories
Monitoring your energizer is critical to keep it running effectively. Wellscroft recommends using a surge protector and installing
a lightning diverter and choke near all plug-in energizers to protect from voltage surges and lightning. Single and double pole
switches are additional ways to protect against lightning damage. This section also contains fence testers and warning lights that
are invaluable tools for monitoring voltage and maximizing performance.
Solar Panels and Accessories
The components necessary to convert compatible energizers from battery to solar
power are detailed here. It is important to choose the solar panel that is the right size
for your energizer based on the time of year in which it will be used. In addition, some
solar setups require a voltage regulator to prevent the battery from over-charging
during sunny days or from losing energy

Polycrystalline Solar Panels
These polycrystalline solar panels have a rugged,
efficient face that is mounted on an aluminum
frame. They have a longer life expectancy than
amorphous or monocrystalline panels and

NOTE:
Wellscroft strongly recommends the use of a fence alert with solar installations
to notify the user when the battery is not holding a charge during the night.
When choosing a solar energizer for winter use, a significantly
larger panel must be used in order to keep the battery adequately
charged in the limited hours of direct sunlight. Also it is important that the
battery remain at least 40% charged during the night to prevent freezing
in zero degree temperatures. Speak to a Wellscroft representative about
